The forth book in The Gates of Heaven series, The Unraveling of Wentwater is a grown-up fairy tale with a heavenly focus. With overtone of Sleeping Beauty (though only subtly–the story itself is little has an entirely different plot), C.S. Lakin’s latest book shows the power of words and mercy. In the book, the traditions of two different villages collide. One village prizes wisdom above anything else; the other village is steeped in superstition and ritual.

Those who have read other books in the series, or who enjoy fantasy with a spiritual focus will enjoy The Unraveling of Wentwater. The book is meant for a teen-age readers, but will appeal to adults who enjoy a nicely-told diversion. The book easily can be read on its own, but readers of the other books in the series will find connections to previous stories.
