The Sands of Ethryn is the penultimate book in the Gates of Heaven Series by C.S. Lakin. In this sixth book we discover the origin of the first of the Gates of Heaven in a tale weaved through time. With elements of the Genesis account (specifically the stories of the Tower of Babylon and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah) as well as the poem “The Hound of Heaven,” we discover evil is at work trying to unravel the good in the world.

In a kingdom where a severe drought is plaguing the land and a mysterious tower is being unearthed, the discovery of an ancient scroll holds the key to the past and the present where the king has mysteriously fallen ill and his vizier is possessed by something otherworldly with evil intents. All seem to fall prey to the influences of the vizier–all except a young linguist plagued by seizures. She will find the key to unlocking the secrets of the present in the past.

The book also comes with a discussion guide.
